Walgreens Update (at least for my city)

My hubby went coupon shopping for me on Thursday and was going after the great Got2B sale. Well, the new registers do not accept a coupon on the free item and the manager cannot adjust a coupon value as the register states that no item matches. I emailed corporate and my favorite local manager called and talked with me. She is a couponer herself and does not know why Walgreens has changed how the registers take coupons on a buy one get one free sale. She has also noticed that she cannot change a coupon value on the register either. These are the new registers at Walgreens that can take the new GS1 barcoes. Just a heads up for anyone shopping at Walgreens, you may run into the same issues as I have. I am not sure that I will do as much shopping at Walgreens as I used to. This definitely puts a cramp in the great shopping available at Walgreens.

Walgreens and Walmart

We went to Walmart and Walgreens today. At walmart we picked up Digiornio Pizzas. Normal price is 4.98 and we have some great 3.00 off two coupons we found during Superbowl week. That makes every two pizzas about 7.00 after tax. This is a great price for us as it keeps us from picking up takeout or ordering pizza.
We then stopped by Walgreens for the Hefty OneZip gallon bags on BOGO at 3.99. We used some 1.00 off two coupons and got each box for 1.15. This is a great stockup price for us as we use these bags quite often to repackage meat and breads that we freeze.

Walgreens Trip 4-3-11

Here is my Walgreens trip that I did today. My hubby did the first trip to burn some Register Rewards and bought the Walgreens batteries that are a 16pk for Buy one get one at 9.99. After Register Rewards, he spend about 4.00 for 20.00 worth of batteries. The other trip was mine and I started with the colgate toothpaste was 2.99 with a 2.99 Register Reward and I had a .75 coupon. The Puffs were .99 after the Walgreens coupon and I had a .50 coupon. the toothbrushes were buy 2 for five dollars and get a $2 Register Reward. I had a coupon for $1 off a single toothbrush. The Olay bars were buy one get one 50% off at a regular price of 2.99 a pack. This made two packs about 4.50 and I had two $2 coupons off one pack. Both razors were 7.99 with $4 Register Rewards and I had a $3 coupon for the Venus and a $5 coupon for the Proglide. This made both of these a very good deal. The second picture is of the poptarts that I also bought at Walgreens. They were 1.88 a pack and I had $1 off two packs coupons. This made each box 1.38 which I find an excellent deal for poptarts! I paid a total of 19 dollars and some change and recieved about $13 in Register Rewards for my next trip. I think I did pretty good and it is all items that my husband and I will use.

Headed to Walgreens and Walmart

Headed to both stores in the morning! I have about fifteen to twenty dollars in Register Rewards to burn through at Walgreens, so I will be getting some much needed batteries, pop tarts, and a couple of free or under a dollar deal items. I will have a much more in depth post tomorrow along with a pic to share of both trips!

Shopping on Saturday

Okay everybody! Here is my Saturday shopping trip. We went to several stores in Springfield including Target, CVS, and Dillons. My favorite deals from the trip are the Scrubbing Bubbles Buy three get a $5 Gift card from Target paired with the SC Johnson rebate for $5 back when you buy three items. I also liked the free body wash and shampoo after ECB at CVS. My total at Dillons was 38.00 for a starting total of 80.00 so I was pretty happy!
